THE THOUGHTS OF A POET
ambition has a stench
it reeks like greed and vanity
but passion is like a fragrance
soothing to the soul and body

competition is a double edged sword
it kills on both ways
purpose is a shepherd's rod
pure guidance and no harm

fame is a fickle friend
money a flirty bitch
women a queer lot
men a confused bunch

but in all this i have found one
separate from the vices of life
i have found love to be
the greatest of them all

happy new month y'all
may this month be the beginning of a fun and purposeful life

here's a message i sent to my girlfriend and she fell in love over and over again.

I can never tell you that

I care about you

You will always hear me say

SELLING THE SOUL

here before you lies my life's worth
summation of love gained and lost
for a cent and fame it is yours
much pain it was anyway

i have believed in love
while watching the transience of dawn
but i will dance with Bacchus all night
if the Midas touch i will have

i will no longer herald with the muses
i will no longer ponder with Copernicus
too much pain it was
and my heart's loss i can vainly fill

for nothing will i yield thee
precious soul of mine
not fame, money or a soft thigh
for thou art beyond them all


I have always wondered what it feels like to sell one's soul. what it means and what it causes.
After careful observation, i have come to realize that nearly everyone of us are guilty of selling our soul at the altar of ambition and greed.
This poem addresses that issue head on and proffers a better way out.
 

Two days ago, i posted a picture and asked you guys to share your opinions.
After waiting for a while i have decided to share my own view on the subject.
HERE'S THE PICTURE AGAIN

If i am to name this picture, i would most probably call it: THE DANCING PENGUINS
it portrays a scenario of happiness and a carefree disposition
a group of happy animals just having fun
you see, more than often we are trapped in our ambition that we do not take out time to enjoy the good things of life like:
WATCHING THE SUN SET
WATCHING THE MOON ROVE
FEELING THE WIND CARESS YOUR FACE
WATCHING A BABY MOVE AND SMILE
DANCING TO THE RHYTHM OF HAPPINESS
SINGING IN THANKSGIVING TO GOD FOR LIFE
FALLING IN LOVE

i know it might sound a like just a waste of time but please humor me
