THE SHADOWS THAT LURKS
Fading like a shadow, evanescent like snow
this shadow we call life and do not know
here today a beacon of hope and certitude
there tomorrow an emblem of fate's ingratitude

Tears of regret, deep rooted pain and dread
of life's transiency and fate's cruelty
but that also fades with the shadow
the shadow that we now know

Too young she was
still blossoming in love
now gone beyond
the circle of darkness and void

For if we are by our acts remembered
then she never lived
but in puerile smiles and cries
and vain tantrums and wild dances

Indeed what shall her epitaph read?
what requiem shall we sing in dark clothing?
what shall dwell in her pages
Oh! by whom shall we remember her

Too young she was
still blossoming in love
now gone beyond
the circle of darkness and void

Alas! young and full of love
now to be reborn
we shall remember her legacy
the legacy of a story untold

what do you do when you witness the death of a very young child?
how do you feel?
i wrote this poem in response to that question and that experience.
believe me, it is not the best of feeling, it crushes your hope in life and fairness and it smolders your believe in fate.
but such is life
OR WHAT DO YOU THINK?
