MY YOUNGER SELF ABOUT CHANGE
From the future,
Yond the borders of the mind,
Where afflatus dwells,
P O Box: a raging mind,
A moment in history
Dear Miniature self
HELLO FROM THE OTHER SIDE…
For too long I have been caught in life’s tide to care about
you.
WELL THE GOOD NEWS IS: THAT’S ABOUT TO CHANGE…
Because there is something I really need to tell you
I heard from an ethereal source that you have been curios
about the concept of change.
You see: just like growing up, change is a grossly
misunderstood concept because like the subtle tick of the clock; you do not see
it coming, till like a bang it hits you right in the face and then you are
like:
BLIMEY!!! I
JUST TURNED THIRTY…
My point here is: cherish your youthfulness while you can
because it isn’t as long as you think it is. For like the clouds in the air, it
erodes into tiny specks of erstwhile history.
Sounds kinda harsh huhh…
How about this?
Remember that night at the park with Amarachi when it felt
like time should freeze because you just had your first kiss?
WELL HERE’S A REALITY CHECK: that was ten years ago
You see, it is easy to draw out plans for your life just like
you and your siblings do a lot but what you fail to realize is that in doing
that, you are wishing away a major part of your life.
That’s aside
NOW LISTEN CAREFULLY!!!
Most of the mistakes made by men were birthed from between the thighs of
a woman
Just like money, a woman is a mobile nuclear weapon and could
be used to either defuse an enemy or destroy your camp.
I have seen men of great strength who were able to overcome
the magnetic lust of money only to kowtow to the magic residing beneath the feminine
lines of longitude.
If you ever plan on enjoying the grace that comes with daily
change then you must learn to love women and not lust after them.
TRUST ME
THERE IS A GAPING DIFFERENCE…
Here is a simple trick I picked as I transcended from an awkward
kid to a defined man:
When a man loves anything,
nothing can go wrong
Do not ever scoff when you hear the phrase: true love
conquers everything because it really does
Live in the moment for only then will you appreciate the
power of change: remember Shola in SS2? You should have kissed her because when
all is said and done we have just two sets of people: those who did something and
those who wished they had done something.
Do not compete with anyone, it is an unnecessary head ache,
do not give up on your dreams, it is incredibly stupid because dreams never
die, they just go to sleep for a while. Eventually every dream comes to action.
When you eventually become a teenager, listen more and talk
less, dream less and learn more and always remember that all teenagers are
potential morons waiting for one angry conversation to manifest.
Love the basic things of life: food, clothes and shelter,
never give up on friends, ignore death and fear God.
I know I have scribbled a gaping length of life’s lesson in such
small space but there’s more.
HERE’S THE JOKER: Change is in seconds just as Men are in
existence.
The change you are craving for just happened so rather than
nursing intent, wake up and smell the fresh roses because every moment is
pregnant with innovations.
